In Scripture... Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." Luke 23:34 |
Forgive them - the Terrorists? Yes, the Terrorists. The Terrorists are people. Only, these people choose to do acts of terrorism; yet, they are still people. Can we, like Christ, ask God to forgive these people for they do not know what they do? If we cannot, we are not true followers of Christ. When we can, we are truly Christ's followers. To be Christian, Christ's followers, means to be on the cutting edge of living the mystery of the Passion and doing what Christ will do. Love casts out fear and love is freedom. In loving from this place of freedom without fear as followers of Christ, we will love our enemies into being people who do not do terrorists acts and are people of God. |
