In Scripture...

"I have loved you with an everlasting love..."

Jer. 31:3

To Be Loved
inspired by Ignatius Loyola

An everlasting love is beyond our comprehension and beyond our understanding.   The only way to begin to understand everlasting love is to try to put it in human terms.  We, humans, have problems committing to love someone for a life time.  In these days, a life time means between 60 to 110 years while we are living on this earth.

How many life times are there in love that lasts as everlasting love?

It seems to me that the first no-no is putting this in time periods and the second, is to look at it in terms of looking towards the future and not living in the present.  Yes, it is in the present moment which we live and am loved with an everlasting love.

The love is everlasting that we receive each and every moment of our lives.  If we are only open to loving God by answering this call to just BE in the Divine Eternal Now which is everlasting love!

Ignatius
