In Scripture...

"There was a rich man who used to... feast magnificently
every day.   And at his gate... a poor man who longed to fill himself with what fell from the rich man's table."

Luke 16:19-31

Table of the Lord
inspired by Ignatius Loyola

Are we the rich person or the poor person?  ...or... Are when are we the rich person and the poor person?

Sometimes we sit at the feast and sometimes we sit below the table of the feast.  Sometimes we have the self image to sit at the table and sometimes we fall below in varying levels below the table.

If the feast at the table symbolizes our true self respect as a human being, we are true to self and true to our image of God when we sit at the Table of the Lord.  It is like going to the Liturgy and receiving the Communion; therefore, fully feasting magnificently every day of our lives.

In transforming and healing our false selves, we rise from the scraps that fall from the table to the eat from the table of the Lord.  As our healing continues, we transform our self severing to feasting with others.  As witness to the Lord living in our lives, we live our lives centered in Christ and as Christ, we give ourselves to others.
