In Scripture we parallel the events in Mary's life to the events of 9.11... Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." Luke 1:38 |
Yes, to what is... In Mary's language of her day, she is saying 'yes' to the will of God. When Mary says yes, she is not fully aware of everything that will happen even that day or during her life. She does not really know how this will effect her relationship with Joseph. With all the unknown, Mary say yes. When the women and men went to work on the 11th of September in and around the WTC and the Pentagon, they said yes to there new day not knowing what it would bring. Like Mary, they began a new day and said yes. They, like Mary, embrace the mystery of the unknown........continued |
