Seems to me, it is more the coming face to face with who we are 'face to face' with Christ. 

The Risen Lord calls us to a relationship of intimacy that is the loving truth of who we truly are in God's eyes. 

Truth of who we are face to face with God, ourselves, and others less any and all personas.

My experience is not loosening the drive to achieve; rather, a call to loving intimacy by an all consuming and a total stripping of self to say as Paul, it is not I who lives; it is Christ who lives in me.....
