In Scripture...

"...I AM the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even it he die, will live..."

John11:25

Face to Face
inspired by Scripture

The Lazarus' story speaks to what I have always call the 'spirituality of the tomb' ... the incredible period of waiting.

Like we wait for Fall to end and Winter pass into Spring to be come Summer!

The seasons of the earth are an image for the transformation within.

Like Lazarus, we go into the deepest part of ourselves to face a memory, motivations, anxiety, fears, or the unknown to die to
self.

Without the grace of the 'spirituality of the tomb', we will not stay in waiting, we will not go to Jerusalem, we will not face our cross, we will not be transformed in love, and we will not let Jesus embrace and love us by calling us forth out of our tomb.

It is only in the dying that we will rise with Christ each day on the  daily Easter morn of our lives from the tomb of what holds us back of being in the light of day with Christ.

Today, what is holding back from dying and rising with Christ?
